Change of the forum software: Access to your old account

Here I would like to show you the Oauth workflow.

  1. So basically you can see the forum like now. All posts can be viewed. If you want to comment, you have to register or login. For this purpose the forum offers “Register” and “Login” at the top. Since we use Oauth as process for this, both buttons lead to our login page.

  2. The login page will then show a simple screen where you can log in. If you already have a Shopware user account, you can log in and skip the next steps and go directly to step 7  . **It is important that the mail address from the user account in the forum matches the mail address you use in the Shopware account. You can then either register a new account or contact forum@shopware.com to change the address in the forum.

  3. If you don’t have an account yet, you can register a new one on the login page. Since the name in the forum is optional, you can use something like “Paul Positiv”. The mail address must be reachable for opt-in purposes.

  4. You will then receive a success message and an email confirming the opt-in.

  5. The opt-in mail contains a link that sends you back to the oauth login.

  6. There the user will be verified and you can login with the newly created user.

  7. After login you will be asked to allow the forum to access the Shopware account data. The mail address and the name will be sent from the Shopware account to the forum. After you have given the authorization, you will be logged in to the forum.

  8. When you log in for the first time, you will see a screen to complete your profile (new users) or you will be logged in directly (existing users). After that you can use your account as before and get started.
