The dev environment is a joke. Did you ever used docker?
All you need to provide is a docker-compose file with versioned docker images.
Please change that! Its way to complicated and needs too much time just to develop an app.

Did you check Dockware already? I think it depends on what usually users, developers & companies can create, afford or buy in order to have an online shop, so there are different cases for everyone, right?
With Dockware it’s damn easy to develop and everything flows perfectly (at least on my Mac).
