# Update auf 5.3.4 - Slim Application Error bei der Installation

Hallo,

&nbsp;

im Abschluss der Installation bekomme ich folgende Fehlermeldung:&nbsp;

Das ist ein Fehler von Mysql, Shopware ist hier wohl unschuldig: [MySQL :: MySQL 5.7 Reference Manual :: B.3.2.15 Can't initialize character set](https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/cannot-initialize-character-set.html)

Kannst du dich mit dem mysql Client mit der DB verbinden?  
Was ist das für ein System? Wie wurde MySQL installiert?

Ja, ich kann mich mit phpMyAdmin mit der DB verbinden.

Ich habe den Provider dazu mal kontaktiert.

Oder ist dies ein Fehler im Datenbank Import? In der Strucktur der Tabellen kann ich&nbsp;utf8mb4 auswählen.

Hallo,

wir hatten das gleiche Problem, es lag an der eingesetzten PHP-Version. Nachdem Update auf 5.6.32 funktioniert alles einwandfrei.&nbsp;
