Hallo,

benötige ich das Security Plugin, wenn ich auf der aktuellen Version bin?

Nein - dann brauchst du es nicht. Es stört aber nicht, wenn es drin bleibt, denn es sind immer nur Funktionen aktiv (automatisch) die in der jeweiligen Version nötig sind.  
In der jeweils aktuellsten Shopware Version ist also automatisch nichts aktiv
