# Shopware cant find my PostgresQL Database

An exception occurred while executing a query: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1006 Can’t create database ‚new\_shopware\_db‘ (errno: 2 „No such file or directory“)

I just got started with Shopware and I cannot complete the installation as it doesn’t recognize my database. I checked and the database definitely exists and the name is correct. What else do I need to do to make it work?

Hi,

you need a MySQL or MariaDB database.

Thank you for your quick reply! I used MariaDB now and it did connect the database successfully. But now it is stuck at the Configuration step. As soon as I click on ‚next‘ the page just keeps loading forever but never goes to the last step ‚Done‘.

What could be the problem?

Hi,

make sure the system requirements are met and check your server logfiles.
