# Shopware 6 & MariaDB 10.1.44

Hallo,

mein Provider bietet in meinem Tarif leider nur MariaDB 10.1. Besteht trotzdem eine Chance, auf Shopware 6 Community Edition zu upgraden?

Nein - du benötigst mindestens MySQL 5.7 oder MariaDB 10.3, sonst ist ein reibungsloser Betrieb nicht gewährleistet.&nbsp;

Was ist mit Shopware 5.5 bzw. 5.6? Wird hier auch MariaDB 10.4 unterstützt? Warum: DomainFactory stellt nur auf MariaDB 10.4 um.

Hey,

ja du kannst Shopware 5.6 mit MariaDB 10.4 verwenden. Du solltest jedoch für die optimale Performance unter Shopware 6 eher MySQL 8 verwenden.

Super danke. MySQL 8 stellt sich nicht, da Domainfactory, sofern wir da bleiben, auf MariaDB setzt. Auch kein anderer Hoster, was ich bisher gesehen habe, bietet MySQL 8 an. Ist das schneller als MariaDB?

Also sehe ich das richtig: Shopware 5.5 unterstützt MariaDB gar nicht? Also müssten wir wie auf unserem Staging vorgehen: es muss ja Shopware und Datenbank gleichzeitig aktualisiert werden?

Müsstest du ausprobieren. In 5.4 oder 5.5 gabs nen Bug, dass die Attribute kaputt generiert wurden. Wenn du das jedes mal händisch fixxt, sollte es kein Problem sein 🙂 (Die Default werte werden doppelt escaped)
