# Shopware 6 in WSL2 recommended Installation

Hello,  
I want to create a local development environment for Shopware 6.

So far I have set up WSL 2 with Ubuntu 18.04. So far I have been following this two sources [Shopware 6: System Requirements](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-platform-dev-en/system-guide/system-requirements) and [Setting up a Shopware Environment with Windows | Shyim's Brain](https://shyim.me/blog/shopware-environment-windows/).

Do I really have to set up Docker? Why can’t I just set up a LAMP stack in Ubuntu? In this guide [Shopware 6: Installation](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-platform-dev-en/system-guide/installation) docker is mentioned but there are no docker images mentioned.

What do you recommend?
