# Preventing order confirmation emails from being send

Hi there,

We receive quite some questions about the order confirmation email being send before actually completing the payment.  
Is there a general setting to prevent the order confirmation from being send?

This depends on the payment provider. If the plugin completes the order before the payment process, there is already a complete order in shopware, therefore the order mail is sent. Most of the payment provider complete the order after the payment.
